Confidence does not always start with a stage or a prize. It can begin with a child explaining an idea at the dinner table, reading a short passage aloud or asking a question in class. Start with a manageable task. Invite your child to describe a favourite book or explain how they solved a problem. Give them time to finish, and praise a specific effort: a clear explanation, careful preparation or the courage to try. Keep practice friendly. If a word is difficult or an answer goes wrong, work through it together. Compare progress with their own earlier attempts rather than another child's performance. Parents and teachers can make room for these small moments every week. The aim is steady growth in expression, independence and willingness to learn.
